FED: Fielding calls stimulus talks 'good', promises nothing
Key senator .. STEVE FIELDING .. has described his talks with the federal government
over its 42 billion dollar stimulus package as good .. but has stopped short of promising
support for the plan.
Labor needs the support of Senator FIELDING .. independent NICK XENOPHON and the five
Australian Greens in the Senate to push its package through because the coalition has
vowed to vote against it.
Senator FIELDING wants the government to set aside 4 billion dollars to create 100
thousand jobs as part of the plan.
A Senate inquiry into the spending spree will continue today.
