Fed: Qantas and EADS win race to fill $2 =3
Senator Hill said contract negotiations would now begin with EADS over the purchase
of the five aircraft.
The basic aircraft construction would be carried out in Europe, while Qantas would
install and integrate refuelling modifications for four of the five craft in Brisbane.
Senator Hill said a contract was expected to be signed later this year.
He said the aircraft were expected to enter service from 2007.
