NSW: Homeless man runover in Newcastle
A homeless man lying on a Newcastle road has been struck and killed by a car.
Police say the 40-year-old was lying on King Street when he was hit about 9.25pm (AEST)
yesterday.
A woman driver noticed the man and managed to swerve to avoid him, but the driver of a
Datsun sedan travelling behind was unable to swerve out of the way.
The man's death brings the state's road toll to 379, the same figure as this time last
year.
