NSW: Council to challenge pokie licence
A western Sydney council has voted to challenge a poker machine licence granted to
a venue in an area it claims has a high proportion of problem gamblers.
Last night Fairfield City Council voted unanimously to seek leave to appeal in the
New South Wales Supreme Court a decision by the Liquor Administration Board to grant a
licence for 15 poker machines at the Canley Heights Hotel.
